Cost of Microblading & Why Others Charge More

Microblading is a commitment. It's not the same as a tatoo, but it is semi permanent. At first glance it may appear that its a big pill to swallow, but you may change your mind once you start adding up how much money you spend on makeup.

Before I met Microblading, I used to spend hours each day on my eyebrows. Sounds crazy I know, but when I really started weighing out whether or not to jump on the Microblading train, I wanted to make sure I was making the best decision, especially with an investment like Microblading. Every day I would fill in my eyebrows in the morning, touch up at work (due to smudging, sweating, humidity, oily skin or whatever else happened), and then again after my post gym shower when I was home. Sephora sells Anastasia eyebrow pencils for $23.00 and I was purchasing at least 3 of those suckers each month!! That is 80 bucks just on eyebrow pencils!! I figured each day I would spend 2 hours maintaining my eyebrows that I will never get back! Microblading was a no brainer for me.

Many of my clients echo my findings. They constantly are telling me how expensive their makeup costs and complain about the countless hours spent daily trying to perfect their brows. For them it made sense too.

When I decided to open Microblading by Kristine, I was determined to offer what myself and close girlfriends were looking for: the importance of stretching a dollar and getting the best product you can buy.

My team and myself are all hard working women & mothers. We understand that sometimes our kids activities or family duties break the bank, and by default we put ourselves last, so something like Microblading gets put on the back burner. We run specials each month in order to make our services affordable, but it doesn't mean we go cheap. I make sure we maintain our high standards and use all disposable tools and the best pigments made in the USA. We often hear that clients have paid up to 4x what we charge in neighboring cities and counties.

When you choose your Microblading technician, make sure you are looking at more than dollar signs though. We are not all created equal. There are people who may be practicing microblading but are not licensed in NJ. Thinking of going to the NYC for it? Think again. NJ has the SAFEST standards in the tri-state area, requiring those who go for microblading to take a board of health specialty class and pass an exam. This means that you are safer in NJ than NYC. Due to the high standards in New Jersey, Microblading technicians have to pay more for their certifications.

Keep in mind with most business and services, the more experienced the person, the higher their rates will be. You should be more concerned with your artist's before and after photos than what zip code they're located in.

Speaking of zip codes, that's another thing that can affect cost. Obviously rent in NYC is going to be more than some zip codes in Jersey and this will reflect in the cost.

A Huge factor many clients don't realize, is how pricey the best pigments can run. Using quality pigment will determine the results of your color. We don't just offer black or brown, we have a whole rainbow (of course we are speaking of natural rainbow colors) to choose from. Great technicians should have not only experience, but additional training in color theory to ensure the perfect match.

It is so vital that you pay attention to the tools your technician uses, for not only your look, but your health. Have you heard of the cheap shenanigans some people will employ to save a buck? I've read articles about salons reusing tools to cut costs, only to have clients then develop discoloration in their eyes, a sign of Hepatitis or other bloodborne diseases. Rest assured that we make sure to show you your wrapped, brand new tool before we even start the Microblading process, and it will stay in your line of sight the whole time. Everything used is disposable, which ensures the safety of our technicians and microblading and permanent makeup clients.

I believe that not only do you have to connect with the artistic view, but also on a personal level. With more and more people entering this field, finding your perfect Microblading specialist can be a challenge, and is such an important decision.

It is WAY more expensive to fix a bad microblading job than it is to do it right the first time. I implore you to do a thorough job researching the technician and their facility, and put price last. Your health and brows will appreciate you for it!

Average cost for Microblading in NYC is about $700-$1,000. Average cost for Microblading in New Jersey is about $450-700.
